Six rounds of competitions from the top of the island to the bottom happen over a nine month time table, with every thing from Rocks, to Trees. to thick Vegetation to every ones favourite lots of Mud!!!

Mainland Trophy - Teams Event
An event over two days on challenging tracks around the event organisers area. The event usually takes place at the end of April before the winch challenge season starts. This event is about reliability and being observant as the points system shows
The Event
• A series of challenging (and scenic) tracks to be driven on a rotational system over two days
• You will need to be self sufficient each day for this event
The Teams
• Drivers to be 4wd club members.
• 3 Vehicles per team
The Vehicles
• Every team vehicle must have a winch
• 930mm max outside diameter tyre (across)
Series Entry 2012
Entry for the 2012 Mainland Winch Challenge Series.
Points count from the time your entry and fee is received, no back dating.
For your entry you get 3 competition numbers to go under your door mirrors (1 spare), an A5 2012 rule book, and entry into the Mainland Winch Challenge Series. Individual competition fees still apply.

For 2012 registrations will be open 01 Feb., Stewart McLellan’ will be taking the registrations.
For your entry fee you will get 3 sets of numbers, 2 are to be mounted on your vehicle under or need the rear vision mirrors, 1 is a spare. And a 2012 rule book.
You must complete 60% of a round to qualify for points.
Points only count from the day of your entry on, NO BACK DATING.
The best 5 out of 6 rounds will count towards the total.
The numbers are a 3 digit arrangement, the first number dictates the class,

Clubman B 400's
Open 600's
Outlaw 800's
Round 6 - Queenstown
The final round of the series is being set in amoungst the stunning landscape of Queenstown.

NZ1 Winch Challenge Round 2 + 3
This year the NZ1 Winch Challenge is being hosted in Canterbury by 4x4 Events and Pucker Park.
It will consist of two of the Mainland Winch Challenge rounds (Thermal Thunder and Hurunui) combined to make one event.

Top of the South Winch Challenge - Round 1
Scrutineering will be just down the road form the 3 Night stages which will be on a new property 15 minuets from Blenheim
The main day will be 10 stages on private property at Mount Riley farm Blenheim
